Known in Egypt as karkadé, this ruby-red infusion has been a fixture of Egyptian hospitality for generations — served steaming hot to open a meal, or ice cold to cut through the desert heat.

The Blend

Our Egyptian Hibiscus is 100% pure — no blending required. Made from the thick, sun-dried calyces of Hibiscus sabdariffa (also called "roselle"), it steeps into a stunning deep magenta cup loaded with tart, cranberry-like brightness. That signature tang comes from an unusually high concentration of organic acids, while the crimson color owes itself to anthocyanins — the same potent antioxidants found in blueberries. One cup delivers roughly 10x the Vitamin C of a glass of orange juice.

Brewing Recommendation

Steep for 5-7 minutes in 212°F water for a full-bodied, tart cup — pull it back to 3-4 minutes for something lighter. Naturally caffeine-free and just as good cold: try it iced with honey and a squeeze of lime for a Latin-style agua de jamaica.
